More than a decade ago the PlayStation 3 was released at that time it was one of the best selling consoles ever, it sold 87 million copies.  4 years ago from Sony stopped the production of the PlayStation 3 and now Sony is planning on closing down all stores on PS3, Vita, and PSP.

When the stores are closed players will no longer be able to get their hands on any digital purchase or buy DLC on each of these products. The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation portable stores are going to officially close on July 2nd while the PS Vita stores still have almost a month and we shut down on August 27th, 2021. By the reason of this shutdown if you have any game you like to play before the PS3 goes away permanently you should do that now because purchases of games are still going on.

Players that have already bought or downloaded games and videos or even redeem games via codes and PlayStation Plus vouchers will still have access to the games but purchase of a game digitally will be stopped.

This has been a long time coming because PlayStation already released PlayStation 5 last year and has sold a lot of copies. Apparently, the success of the PlayStation 5 is so great Sony is willing to let go of the older versions of the PlayStation and the PlayStation portable.
